Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data JN ("we", "us") collects through MarkPlan Pro and this website, and how we use it. We handle personal data in line with the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Cap. 486) of Hong Kong.

1. What stays on your device

Your projects — base plans, markings, defect details, remarks and photo numbers — are stored only on your own device. They are not sent to us, and we cannot see or recover them.

2. What we collect

• Trial and contact requests: your name, company, work email, phone number (optional), role, the plan you're interested in, a second user's email (optional) and any message you send.
• Account data: your name or username, email address, password (stored only as a secure hash by our sign-in provider), company, role, plan and subscription dates.
• Device data: for each signed-in device, a random device identifier, a device name, the app version, and when it was first and last used. We use this to apply the device limit.
• Billing records: invoices and payment records for paid plans.

3. How we use it

• To set up and manage trials, accounts and subscriptions, and to apply device limits.
• To reply to your enquiries and send service messages, such as trial and renewal notices.
• To keep the service secure and prevent misuse.
• To meet legal and accounting obligations.

We do not sell your personal data and we do not use it for third-party advertising. We will only send you direct marketing if you have agreed to it, and you can opt out at any time.

4. Service providers and transfers outside Hong Kong

We use trusted providers to run the service. They process data on our behalf only:

• Netlify — hosts this website and the app, and receives the trial request form (servers may be in the United States and elsewhere).
• Supabase — sign-in and account database (hosted in Singapore).
• Google Fonts — this website loads fonts from Google, which receives your IP address when a page loads.

This means your personal data may be stored or processed outside Hong Kong.

5. How long we keep it

We keep account data while your account is active and for up to 2 years after it ends, unless we must keep it longer for legal or accounting reasons. Trial requests that don't become accounts are deleted within 12 months.

6. Cookies

This website does not use advertising or analytics cookies. The app stores your sign-in session and your projects in your browser's local storage on your device so it can work offline.

7. Security

Data is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS), passwords are stored only as hashes, and access to account data is restricted. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong password and lock your device.

8. Your rights

Under the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance you may ask to access or correct the personal data we hold about you. You can also ask us to delete your account. We may charge a reasonable fee for a data access request as the law allows, and we will reply within 40 days.

9. Changes

We may update this policy and will post the new version on this page with a new date.
